I have the privilege of working with many great leaders. None look alike. Various personalities, gifting and history, but all with a fierce heart for the Lord. Recently one of those leaders was walking through a season of downturn, and was processing all of the crazy that Satan speaks in those seasons. This is a letter to that leader. May it breathe power, hope and destiny back into your soul!
Hey friend,
The Lord has wired you for great leadership. This season (of challenge, plateau, seemingly indifference among the body) is powerful and formative in the destiny He has for you. Fully embrace it as His leading, for your future work with other leaders you will need to know how to coach them in the seasons of downturn and how to keep them from thinking they have lost “it” and are limited. They will need you to lead them through with the same deep wisdom the Lord is developing in you in this moment.
And I would encourage you to keep telling your team that when the leader and leaders are full of passion, and live in the Presence of the King, eventually the world around them changes. That is the power of leadership! And when the leader(s) are then pouring into others (what they get from you that you get from the Lord) the culture extends further.
Leader—-> Leaders ——> church program / ministry
It’s the left side and the middle that will power the right side! It’s the left side of a leader listening to the Lord and then investing PRIMARILY IN LEADERS that will flow out (result) in extension of the God move we call ministries. It is sad that in our world we work so hard on the right side, run to conferences and try this and then try that, rather than living in the Presence and letting Christ be Head of the Body to direct us to the next steps. Yes, we learn from others, but we first listen to the Head of the Body!
We know that when the leader is full of the Spirit, living in passion and power, that the church body will eventually ignite. It can take time, even years, but the key factor in any fresh move of God, any restart, is NOT A NEW VISION – it is PRESENCE ALIVE IN A LEADER!!!
You are that man. The future is bright around you because the Presence is big in you! Lead on, the Kingdom is coming on earth as God is dreaming it in heaven!!!
