Worship is a gift of God – a venue or opportunity for us to experience wonder and majesty. Most of us live “contained” lives; squeezed by limitations, rejections, disappointments. Worship is where the Lord opens the skies and reveals, reminds and re-energizes us. In worship, we enter the stories of God’s moving. In worship, we join in community to defy the “contained” life and choose to walk into a world full of wonder, hope and miracle. Without worship, we are left to “survival of the fittest” and “dog eat dog”. But worship declares we are seen by the Lord, we are loved and we are trusted with destiny and power. Worship breaks the “restricted life” and opens to us the other world of the Kingdom, the real world. And once we experience in worship, we can then live in the world and our eyes will be attuned to majesty, our hearts will be alive with hope and our tension when “dog eat dog” begins can be emptied. Once we enter worship, we can re-enter life changed people. No wonder so many seem destined to fight for themselves, to live with an eye on their back, to be scaled down to what you see is what you get. Choose to enter wonder! Choose to worship!
