The Power of Wonder

have you lost the wonder_std_t_nv

Life without wonder is lived small, lived in the confines of our thinking, our ability, our limitations.  Wonder opens our imagination.  Wonder calls us to live in majesty, in the amazement of a God to whom nothing is impossible.  Wonder opens us to possibilities and future.

Leaders need wonder.  Leaders need to be captured by the majesty of the Lord who orchestrates future, who calls us to a future that would seem anything but possible.  Leaders, living lives of worship, living in “Kingdom come” prayer and practice, invoke a future the Lord is dreaming.  When we are pressed down by our problems, squeezed by our lack of resources, closed in by our conflict, we must move back into worship, back into majesty, back into reflection on creation and redemption (the improbability of our transformation!).  That one step releases hope that catalyzes passion and in turn empowers action that shapes the world.  We need wonder.  We need our leaders to lead with wonder in their hearts so that we can follow into that same wonder!
