The Blessing of Leaders

Somewhere along the line we began to doubt the motives of nearly every leader.  It is true that the soul of the leader is always experienced by the people who trust that leader and follow. Some do indeed take advantage of their position, thinking they “deserve” privileges and more. But many leaders lead out of a pure heart.  And when they do, those they lead are blessed beyond measure.

A pastor whose heart is on fire for the Lord, whose faith is strong and growing, who sees those they lead and completely love and believe in them is an incredible gift!  That pastor will be a source of God’s presence flowing to the people.  That pastor will bring blessing after blessing to those they lead.

Ephesians 3 Paul describes himself as a captive in Christ FOR the Ephesians!  What an amazing center of leadership, to be moved by the Lord for those we lead!  Not for personal popularity, not for being touted as the leader of the largest church, but moved by the love of Christ for the Lord.

I’ve seen many leaders go through agony in their leadership brought on by those who question everything, resist and fight their leaders for control.  If your leader is anointed, if your leader is walking in the Spirit, if your leader has the scent of God upon them, do the opposite.  Tell them you love to follow them!  Tell them you are counting on them to keep sitting with the Lord on their behalf.  Tell them you are with them.  Fill them with joy of serving you.

Leaders are a gift from the Lord, an expression of His presence among us!  That is an amazing call to leadership and to follower-ship!
