Inner Work: Stop Blaming Others

Blame-Game-Fingers-Pointing

The inner work of the leader is the most challenging work.  It is also the work that will eventually produce fruit.  As we do the inner work, the Lord will trust us with opportunities of greater impact (he who is faithful in little…).

The inner work is difficult as it puts our hearts and minds under the spotlight.  The inner work uses life setting, people, problems, successes, even losses to bore deep into our souls, and there bring cleansing and eventually power.  The inner work can only be done when we give up blaming others. As long as we can point to someone else, we avoid the foundational work of responsibility and the awareness of His Lordship in and over our lives.  The first step is to assume responsibility for your own development and to recognize that the limitations you have, the obstacles in your way, are far greater than what someone else has done or can do.  The greatest obstacle in your way is you.  Until we face that one and stop wishing for a break, stop blaming others, our inner work is on hold.
